About Jerry
In May 2017, I graduated from the University of Connecticut (UConn) with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) in Biomedical Engineering with a focus in Biosystems, Imaging & Instrumentation and a minor in Electrical Engineering specifying in Electronics & Systems. Throughout my college education, I participated in multiple engineering projects, laboratory studies, and a medical device internship. Along with my education, I dedicated my time to many extracurriculars, where I excelled as a leader. From 2014 to 2017, I was music director and arranger for the ICCA (International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella) award-winning, premier a cappella group, UConn A Minor. Upon graduation, I chose to pursue both my engineering profession and continue my musical endeavors as a vocal arranger and composer. I have conjointly written customized music and instructed a cappella masterclasses for aspirant ICCA competitors, such as The Quinnipiac University Legends' 2017 set, Epitome. My works are being sang internationally at the 2018 Vocal Pop and Jazz Days in Soesterberg, Netherlands, by America's top female vocal band, Musae, and can be heard in productions by The Vocal Company, Liquid 5th, and TVC Next Level. Vocationally, I am currently a Math Interventionist with Danbury Public Schools in Danbury, Connecticut. I chiefly work at the Alternative Center for Excellence (ACE) assisting teachers to provide a focused intermediation to small groups of students.
My "master plan" is one of profession and passion: To make both science and vocal music better for everyone. I strive to exploit the expanse of my knowledge to achieve a working mastery of both biomedical engineering and contemporary vocal arranging and composition through continuous education and collective experience.
