About Camila

Hello! My name is Camila and I'm 23 years old. I am passionate about teaching English. I started teaching at the age of 18, to groups of school-aged children. Likewise, I participated in several international debate competitions during my university experience, which allowed me to develop my knowledge at an advanced-technical level, and it allowed me to understand English from the public-speaking point of view. Later in my career, I worked in a law firm, in which I was responsible for translating legal documents. This allowed me to learn directly from the best professionals, everything related to English-Spanish legal translation. Finally, I was the coordinator of an exam preparation academy, which allowed me to study the structures and challenges that these qualifications may imply. I must mention, that in addition to my academic experience, I lived in the United Kingdom for six months in the past year.

About the lesson

I believe that each student has both different learning abilities and areas of focus. My objective is to be able to identify the specific needs and abilities of each student and, through that, design in a consistent manner the methodology to be applied in lessons. I strongly believe that developing grammar knowledge is vital to achieving an advanced level of English, but I do not think that it should be the only objective of those who teach the language. I think that the teacher has the responsibility to achieve a balance between grammar, speaking, and the use of language.
