About Sukanta
I earned my MSc in Applied Physics at the University of Strathclyde and BS in Physics with an emphasis in Astronomy and a minor in Mathematics at Minnesota State University Moorhead, USA. Throughout my undergraduate career, I assisted students in introductory astronomy, general physics, experimental physics, analog electronics, calculus, intermediate statistics courses. I also have a year-long teaching experience at the Creighton University (Nebraska, USA) where I spent an academic year pursuing an MS in physics. My MSc thesis at the University of Strathclyde was replicating space radiation in the lab under the supervision of Professor Bernhard Hidding and Professor Zheng-ming Sheng.
I gained valuable experience in closely assisting high school students in the Advanced Higher Day event at Strathclyde last December (2016) where I helped students carrying out physics experiments in kinematics, dynamics, and optics. On a lighter note, I like hiking, running, and watching cricket and football. I am a member of the American Physical Society and the Institute Of Physics (UK).
