About Verity

I am a second year student studying Medicine at St Edmund Hall, Oxford. I was born and raised in Wales and went to a state school throughout my education.

I have tutored both maths and English through the scheme of Kumon for over eight years and so have experience tutoring many pupils from lots of different backgrounds, ages and capabilities. I have also privately tutored 1-to-1 for a few years with great results, including helping a student previous sitting on a B grade in GCSE mathematics obtain and A*, as well as aiding a student obtain a place for medicine at Chirst Church College, Oxford.

I love to help and support other students in any way that I can so that they can thrive academically and feel confident within themselves.

About the lesson

Having tutored for over eight years, I am a personable and reliable tutor who aims to help other students not only get the grades they deserve but gain the confidence they need to do so. Having worked with an extremely wide-range of students from various backgrounds, I have learnt how important adapting my teaching style to the specfic student can be.

I am based in Oxford but can easily tutor online in order to fit both of our availabilities.

I believe it is so much easier to achieve academic goals when you feel confident and happy in your abilities, so sessions would focus on specific areas where pupils feel they need the most work. Therefore, sessions are tailored, extremely personalized and flexible.

I can tutor a range of subjects as follows:
- Oxbridge and general medicine interview technique
- UCAT/BMAT entrance exams
- A-level mathematics, biology and chemistry
- GCSE mathematics, numeracy, English (literature and language), chemistry, biology and physics
- National exams (11+, 13+)
