About Chris
I had to learn a second language (French) for my work, so I understand how challenging it can sometimes be. It's not easy for a competent, intelligent adult not to become frustrated at times in their language journey. Since I was successful in my journey, as well as helping many dozens of students reach their goals, I know how to help students to succeed.
My students describe me as nice, friendly and helpful. A number of my students have also come back to me as they advance.

I focus on communication skills rather than grammar.
- My approach is to meet my students where they are in their English journey, through discussions of topics of interest to them, such as work, current events and hobbies.
- A typical lesson plan would be a reading or listening piece, followed by discussion.
- I am able to gently correct any errors and help the student to develop strategies to deal with them.
- I work best with intermediate to advanced students.
