About Charlotte

I'm a native speaker of English and I've taught the language to students at a range of levels from A1 up to C2, from pre-school age to adulthood.

I've learned foreign languages myself so I understand how much hard work and dedication it takes to become fluent! Learning German and French to a high level has helped me understand what matters most in language-learning and I can use this knowledge to deliver effective lessons to my students.

I'm from Cambridge and I speak with a Standard Southern British accent, so I can help you finetune your pronunciation to sound more like a native.

I have a Level 5 TEFL Certificate and an Exam Preparation certificate from the TEFL.org, and I have a clear DBS check. I live in Cambridge and I offer in-person lessons either at my home or in local libraries, or we can meet online.

About the lesson

Lessons are normally one hour long, but we can adjust the time to your preference. We can meet online via Google Meet or arrange lessons in person if you live locally.

I have access to lesson packs for all kinds of language goals: Exam preparation (IELTS, Cambridge Suite of Exams and others), general English and young learners. I'll make sure to choose lesson topics according to your personal interests and learning objectives.

We'll also work on grammar, pronunciation, functional language (language for specific situations), the four key skills (reading, listening, speaking, writing) and you'll get LOTS of vocabulary training with flashcards!

I normally give homework after each lesson, which will include vocab flashcards and sometimes a writing assignment or a worksheet. We can discuss how much you would like to receive each week.

I offer specialised lessons for businesspeople, university students and those seeking accent reduction. Please see below for the rates.
