About Laura

What drives me as a tutor? Helping people change their lives for the better. Whether it is a major “rock their world” revelation that opens up new opportunities to them or they learn a new skill that helps them do their job a little better, people I work with have the chance to make a change. I have over 20 years of experience as a software trainer both teaching classes and working with people one-on-one (tutoring). I work with adults at all experience levels with Microsoft Office and help them learn what they need to know to accomplish what they need to do. I have worked with all experience levels and can teach you what you need to know. I have worked with beginners through advanced software users. I have tutored everyone from people who have never used the program to research scientists who wanted to know how to get Excel to do things Microsoft didn’t imagine anyone would want it to do. I have a Master's from Johns Hopkins University and a Business degree from Grove City College. I am an outstanding software trainer because I not only teach functionality but also help students learn at their pace. I hear the questions that people actually have, not just the ones asked out loud. I have patience and think the only dumb question is the one you do NOT ask. Microsoft Excel is the most used software program in the business world and lack of knowledge of this program should not hold you back professionally. About the lesson

We start where you are. What do you need to learn? What do you already know? What project(s) have you been assigned that require Excel? Then, I explain the principles and how to accomplish tasks and you try things so that you can not only understand, but do tasks in Excel yourself.
