About Callahan
With over 12 years of experience teaching saxophone to college students, I aim to create lessons that are engaging, practical, and effective. My teaching style is calm, flexible, and focused on steady improvement. I believe every student learns differently, and I adapt my methods to suit individual needs.
I focus on tone control, breath support, finger coordination, rhythm accuracy, and expressive performance. Creative elements such as improvisation and musical interpretation are included to keep lessons enjoyable. I use real-life music examples to help students understand how techniques work in actual music.
I apply innovative teaching methods like recording feedback, play-along practice, and structured goal-setting. Along with saxophone skills, I teach music theory, ear training, and sight-reading for complete musical growth.
My lessons help students build confidence and consistency, whether they want to perform or play music for personal enjoyment.

My teaching methodology for Saxophone is designed to help students become confident and independent musicians. I focus on building strong fundamentals and clear understanding. Creativity, mentorship, and accountability are central to my teaching.
Students learn proper breathing, tone control, finger technique, rhythm, and musical expression. Creativity is encouraged through improvisation and song learning. Accountability is maintained through structured practice and regular feedback. Along with Saxophone, I teach Music Theory, Ear Training, Rhythm Practice, and Performance Basics.
