About Edouard

DJ and activist of the electronic scene for fifteen years as a label manager and consultant, it is in London during the 2000s that I fall head first in the world of mixing and electronic music. I taught myself how to mix, and I soon had the desire to play my music in front of an audience. I have played and continue to play in many places and festivals in Paris (Concrete, Gaîté Lyrique, New Casino, Social Club, Espace Pierre Cardin, Wanderlust, Paris Paris, Nuits Fauves, Glazart, etc.) and in France, but also in London, Lisbon, Berlin, Copenhagen, New York, Los Angeles, Melbourne, among others. I played with many different formats through time, starting with Serato and Traktor and today I play on USBs with CDJ and vinyl on turntables.

About the lesson

I welcome you in my studio in the 10eme in Paris, fully equipped and soundproofed (CDJ and Pioneer table, Technics turntables, club sound). I can also come to you.

I have affinities with many genres such as house, techno, disco, breakbeat, bass, trance, downtempo, electro, hardcore, UK Garage, ambient and early rave to only cite a few. And I am open minded!

As the needs of each student are different, I start by finding out about your level and your goals, as well as the musical styles that interest you, whether you come to me for a complete course or to master a specific tool (like vinyl mixes or CDJs for instance) or if you have specific questions of a technical or more creative nature. Indeed, being a good DJ requires as technical knowledge as much as rhythmic and creative skills. It is important to have a good foundation right off the bat, so I'll make sure you understand the fundamentals of rhythm.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of areas where my experience can benefit you:

-beatmatching and techniques to play on vinyl and CDJ
-harmonic mixing
-how to use a mixer and its effects, a turntable and of a CDJ
-how to read the public and conquer any crowd -
-how to build a selector style set
-how to prepare a set for different contexts (from the bar to the club to the festival)
-how to use social networks
-how to find new records to play (digging, Discogs, stores in Paris and elsewhere)
-how to approach the DJing the right way so that it always remains a shared pleasure between you and your audience

Perfect! Tout d'abord Edouard est très accueillant et cool. Il est avenant dans sa manière à vous suivre et donner des conseils. Il est aussi flexible dans l'organisation des cours et répond rapidement aux messages. Il possède un studio au centre de Paris qui est bien équipé ce qui est parfait pour l'enseignement des cours de mixage. Il a une très bonne sélection de musique et un vrai pro dans les techniques du mixage grâce dû à sa longue expérience dans le domaine. Franchement, je le recommande vivement! Merci Edouard

Edouard est d’abord quelqu’un de gentil, ce qui est une qualité primordiale pour enseigner. Ensuite c’est un très bon dj, avec une technique impeccable et une vaste culture musicale. Il dispo d’un studio fort agréable en sous-sol au coeur du 10ème arrondissement, isolé phoniquement et donc on peut mettre le volume sans crainte de déranger le voisinage. Enfin Edouard sait bien théoriser les choses qu’il sait, analyser et transmettre.
Cela me parait clairement l’option idéale pour s’initier ou progresser au mix avec quelqu’un de sérieux, doué, empathique et parfaitement équipé.
