About the lesson
Chess is an old game and masters have been contributing to it for a long time. As a result, teachers like me have got a torrent of books and puzzles to choose from and it makes me think it's more important to be knowledgeable of the game than to provide a brand-new, original curriculum. I can't help but hand you the same manuals written by world champions that you can find elsewhere, but I can present them in a light that meets your understanding. So long as you're enthusiastic about your chess I can prepare classes to entertain and frustrate you.
- All Levels
I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Waterloo where, unfortunately, chess is not accredited... Later, I got some work experience, though this too is unrelated to chess... Well, we're done with that (and how glad am I). As for my chess, I am a master with a rating over 2300.
I have been giving lessons for many years. The last five years I've been taking it pretty seriously while living in Toronto and some of my early students are now reaching mature levels of play. One is an expert. At the moment my weekends are busy teaching a handful of bright students... you could be another.
P.S. Someone asked if the first lesson is free. No... Why would it be? Is "first" some kind of incantation? Is the first meal at a new restaurant free? Try that one out.
"But wait, listen. This is my FIRST Happy Meal."
Please. As if. And those guys have the cash.
