About Aisha

My name is Aisha Al-Rizzo, a graduate of the UofA. I was in your shoes once -- I had taken General Chemistry I and earned my first B in my life. I was upset, but I didn't let it sway me -- I decided to develop better study strategies that worked for me, and I went with it! I ended up taking Honors University Chemistry II, fell in love with the subject, studied in the way that was best for me, and got an A! If it's one thing I learned from my tutoring and personal experience, it's that anyone can accomplish anything if you put in the work. I will ensure that you will reach your goals in chemistry and make you love the subject! Chemistry doesn't need to be harder than what people make it out to be. You can do it!

About the lesson

As someone who has been an SI tutor for my University, I have already developed lesson plans for 14 weeks of the semester, which correlate to topics in University Chemistry II. I like to approach an average tutoring session (although I had tutored many in one session), as a friendly interaction. I like to begin with warm-up problems, key points from the lecture, an integrative and interactive activity that keeps a student engaged, and finally a quick quiz before the end of the session to assess proficiency. I also make my own study guides, games, flash cards, diagrams, and other resources for important topics to memorize in the subject. My lessons and my experience is best for those who are studying general chemistry in an undergraduate institution, although I am open to tutoring MCAT-tested chemistry concepts!
