About Rachel

Hi, I'm Rachel! I am an experienced educator with a background in secondary teaching, one-to-one music tuition and supporting children and young people across a wide range of ages and abilities.

I have a real passion for helping learners build confidence and enjoy the learning process, particularly those who may feel overwhelmed or unsure of their abilities. My teaching style is patient, encouraging and tailored to the individual, because I believe every learner deserves to feel successful.

Alongside my experience teaching French in secondary schools, I have many years of experience working with children and families, including learners with SEND and additional needs. I understand that no two learners are the same, and I enjoy finding approaches that work for each individual.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy music, reading, arts and crafts, and spending time with my family.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to the individual learner and designed to build confidence as well as subject knowledge. I believe learning should feel supportive, engaging and accessible, whether you are preparing for GCSE examinations, improving classroom understanding or learning French for personal interest.
I have experience teaching French across Key Stages 3 and 4 in secondary schools, alongside extensive experience supporting children and young people of varying ages, abilities and learning needs, including pupils with SEND.
Lessons typically last between 45 and 60 minutes and are delivered online. Sessions may include vocabulary building, grammar practice, speaking and listening activities, reading comprehension and exam preparation depending on the learner's goals.
My aim is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing confidence in their abilities.
As both an educator and instrumental tutor, I understand the importance of adapting teaching methods to suit each learner's individual strengths and learning style.
