I use a student-centred approach to teaching with a goal-oriented focus on the mandated curriculum. I try to make learning enjoyable by keying into what students find interesting. I also try to make subjects relevant to students by illuminating the utility of what they are learning. This strategy enables students to better relate to the material, to better understand how subject matter applies to what they have experienced and makes learning experiential.
I tutored peers as a high school student and studied Educational Psychology during my undergrad. I also worked as a high school equivalency and ESL instructor for 3.5 years, in Toronto.
