About Yong Shen

Hello! It's Teacher Alex here, and I'm excited to share my passion for learning with you. I'm currently pursuing Psychology at Universiti Malaysia Sabah, and I believe my academic journey has equipped me with valuable insights and skills that I'm eager to pass on. My educational background includes strong results in both secondary school and STPM. I understand the challenges students face, and I'm committed to helping you overcome them. I've held various leadership positions throughout my academic life, from President of Lembaga Pusat Sumber in secondary school to President of Majlis Pelajar Tingkatan 6 in pre-university. These experiences have honed my communication and organizational skills, which I believe are essential for effective teaching. I've also gained practical experience as a tutor at EduPlanet Tuition & Daycare Centre, Prima Intelek Tuition Centre, SJK(C) Soo Jin, and through one-on-one online tutoring. These experiences have allowed me to develop my teaching methods and adapt to different learning styles. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into simpler, more digestible pieces, and I'm patient and understanding when it comes to helping students grasp new ideas. Why do I like to teach? For me, it's about seeing that spark of understanding in a student's eyes. It's about helping them build confidence and achieve their academic goals. I believe that everyone has the potential to succeed, and I'm passionate about providing the guidance and support needed to unlock that potential. I'm fluent in Mandarin, Malay, English, Hokkien, and Cantonese, which allows me to connect with a diverse range of students.
