About Meg
I have tutored students from preschool through 11th grade in math, language arts, science, and social studies. After graduating from Buena Vista University with my Elementary Education degree and Reading Endorsement, I have worked as a literacy and bus transfer paraeducator. This position has allowed me to utilize and develop my skills in reading instruction. I have worked alongside two Title 1 teachers on a daily basis, teaching K-4 small group reading and assessing students with informal running records, Fountas & Pinnell guided reading leveling, and DIBELS. In the bus transfer duties of my job, I have been able to develop skills in resolving conflicts with students in order to maintain safety.

I tend to use the Socratic method in teaching, especially with math. I will let a student try a new method and then help them see if it works all the time and if it matches with the answers other people arrive at.
