About Alyssa

Hi, I'm Alyssa! I'm an experienced pediatric Registered Nurse and a current Master of Nursing and Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner student.

I know nursing school can be challenging, and I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions without judgment. I'm friendly, patient, reliable, and easy to talk to, and I aim to make every session supportive, encouraging, and productive.

My clinical experience includes pediatric surgery, burns, plastics, and urology. I have also precepted and supported many new nurses, which has strengthened my ability to explain complex concepts clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and help others build confidence in their clinical skills.

I take professionalism seriously and will always come prepared, communicate clearly, and tailor lessons to your individual goals. Whether you are preparing for an exam or clinical placement, working through a difficult concept, or looking for extra support, I would be happy to help you feel more confident and capable.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is supportive, practical, and tailored to each student's needs. I focus on helping nursing students understand the "why" behind complex concepts so they can apply their knowledge confidently in exams, clinical placements, and real patient scenarios.

Lessons may include reviewing difficult topics, breaking concepts into manageable steps, working through case studies, practicing NCLEX-style questions, and strengthening clinical reasoning. Sessions are personalized based on the student's course, learning style, and goals.

I am an experienced pediatric Registered Nurse at a large children's hospital and am currently completing my Master of Nursing and Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner education. My background includes pediatric surgical nursing, burns, plastics, urology, pain management, medication administration, and patient education.

I support practical nursing, BScN, and early graduate nursing students with pathophysiology, pharmacology, health assessment, pediatric nursing, care planning, OSCE preparation, exam review, and academic organization.

My goal is to create a comfortable, judgment-free environment where students can ask questions, build confidence, and leave each session feeling more prepared!
