About Asvni

This year I will be studying Applied Medical Science at UCL, I have always loved science. When I was younger the decision between pursuing a writing career or a career in STEM was always a tough battle in my mind, after long thoughts I've decided to pursue my STEM career. I have studied at Burnham Grammar School all the way from Year 7 to Year 13, my favourites subjects at GCSE were English and Business Studies and my favourite at A-Level was Biology.

I have been a tutor for the last 4 years, starting with simply teaching my little brother and cousins to now teaching multiple classes. I've always loved teaching and forever will, I'm incredibly happy to share my knowledge and help those I can. Teaching brings me joy, the variety of range of personalities I teach makes my lessons so memorable. Lessons with me will ensure you a strong grasp in knowledge but also the assurance that you will not be bored!

About the lesson

Being a tutor these last 4 years, I have had upmost success within my teaching. Every child I have tutored has not only reached their potential within their education but they've also gained a friend from me. Before beginning any lessons with new students I hold a short meeting to understand what exactly they want from these lessons it could be: they simply want to feel more confident with the topics, they have major exams coming up SATS/11+ or GCSE/A-Level, they want to move sets in school, they are looking to change schools etc. There are so many different reasons; each student is different - this is why every lesson plan is different. The ratio to interactive and revision lessons are always vital. For example a lesson on Cells in Biology, we could either spend half the lesson looking over content and the other half with questions or if I know their knowledge is strong but exam technique is weak we could spend a whole lesson on exam questions. Picking up on little things in a student is what diversifies each person. I've tutored children aged 6-16, the variety in ages has helped me adapt each lesson to how I see best for the individual.
