About Tanvi

I am a dedicated public speaking tutor and experienced competitor with a strong background in speech and debate. I am a varsity member of my school’s Speech and Debate team and hold a certificate of membership from the National Speech & Debate Association. Through years of competitive experience, I have developed effective communication skills and a deep understanding of what makes a speech clear, persuasive, and engaging.

I have competed in multiple regional tournaments, winning six regional titles and placing 2nd in a statewide championship. This experience has helped me master important public speaking skills such as voice control, body language, argument structure, and audience engagement, which I now teach to my students in a clear and approachable way.

My teaching method focuses on building strong fundamentals first, then developing advanced speaking skills step-by-step. Each lesson targets one key area—such as voice modulation, pacing, hand gestures, posture, or confidence-building techniques—before moving on to full speech practice. Students receive guided instruction, real-time feedback, and repeated practice to help them improve steadily.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my combination of competitive experience and supportive teaching style. I understand the pressures of speaking in front of an audience and focus on helping students build both skill and confidence. I create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable improving at their own pace.

My lessons are designed for beginners and students of all levels, including elementary, middle, and high school students who want to improve their public speaking for presentations, debates, competitions, or everyday communication.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on building confidence, communication skills, and strong public speaking habits step-by-step in a supportive and encouraging environment. I begin with the basics so students can develop a strong foundation before moving into more advanced speaking techniques. Each lesson focuses on one essential public speaking skill, such as voice modulation, tone, pacing, hand movements, posture, eye contact, body language, or audience engagement.

A typical lesson starts with a short explanation and demonstration of the skill we are focusing on, followed by guided practice activities and speaking exercises. Once students become comfortable with the fundamentals, we begin practicing full speeches and presentations to help them apply everything they have learned in real speaking situations. I also provide personalized feedback and tips for improvement after each practice session.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my patient and confidence-building teaching style. I understand that public speaking can feel intimidating, especially for beginners, so I create a comfortable environment where students can practice without fear of judgment. My lessons focus not only on speaking clearly, but also on helping students feel more self-assured, expressive, and prepared when speaking in front of others.
