About Ricky
I have been playing/studying guitar for 38 years,specialising in rock,pop and funk.I enjoy teaching people of all abilities and use RGT grades 1-8 to help give structure to lessons. However, if grades aren`t your thing I can teach you to play your favourite songs and help enhance your playing ability and technique. I have RGT qualifications up to and including grade 8 and hold an RGT diploma in Performance. My lessons are fun and educational and I can quickly help you to achieve your goals. One of my recent students has gone on to study Music Performance at Degree level at ACM London after achieving RGT grades 1-7,with merits and distinctions,through my tutelage. Lessons take place at my purpose built studio.
I have performed at various venues throughout the country including Hammersmith Odeon with radio and tv performances including the 1980`s ITV series London`s Burning. I have recorded at studios around London including SARM West and Sony. I attended the Guitar Institute in West London and was taught by Shaun Baxter (a writer for guitar techniques magazine)and Merlin Rhys-Jones,former guitarist with Ian Dury and The Blockheads. More recently I have been writing,recording and producing material plus performing at various local venues, having won a few competitions along the way.
