About Brittani
I have been in the field of education for several years, and I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP). My journey in this field has been driven by a deep passion for helping others, particularly within the special education population. I absolutely love working with special ed students and assisting children in finding their voice, whether through traditional speech methods or using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
My experience as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) and a former Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) has equipped me with a unique set of skills, including behavior regulation strategies and a thorough understanding of the challenges that can arise in the learning process. I am patient, adaptable, and dedicated to creating a supportive learning environment where each student can thrive.
I am eager to share my knowledge and expand my love for the field by helping students succeed in their academic and professional journeys. Whether you’re looking for support in your speech-language studies, need help understanding behavior management, or want to enhance your communication skills, I am here to guide you with professionalism and care.

Teaching Method and Techniques:
My teaching method is rooted in patience, understanding, and adaptability. Drawing from my experience as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and an SLPA, I employ behavior regulation strategies to create a calm and productive learning environment. I understand that learning can be challenging, especially for those with special needs, so I tailor my approach to meet each student’s unique needs. I focus on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, using visual supports, hands-on activities, and real-world examples to reinforce learning.
Typical Lesson Plan:
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous material to ensure retention and understanding. I then introduce new concepts in a structured yet flexible manner, allowing for questions and discussions. The lesson includes interactive activities, such as role-playing or using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, to enhance engagement. I also incorporate behavior regulation techniques, like scheduled breaks or sensory activities, to keep the student focused and motivated. Each session ends with a summary and a preview of the next lesson, along with practice assignments tailored to the student’s pace.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor:
What sets me apart is my dual expertise in speech-language pathology and behavior analysis. Working with the special ed population has equipped me with a deep understanding of how behavior and communication intersect. I’m skilled in identifying antecedents to behavior struggles and implementing de-escalation strategies within my teaching. This allows me to create a learning environment where students not only understand the material but also feel supported emotionally and behaviorally. My ability to adapt to various learning styles and needs ensures that each student can achieve their full potential.
Who the Lessons Are For:
My lessons are designed for students at various levels, from those in early education to adults, particularly those in special education settings or those using AAC. Whether you’re a student pursuing a degree in speech-language pathology, someone looking to improve communication skills, or a parent seeking support for a child with special needs, my tutoring is tailored to meet your specific goals and challenges.
