About Alexander
I grew up in Rome, Italy, and was exposed to art from a very early age. However, my real engagement and understanding of art began when I attended the Liceo Artistico, where I was first formally introduced to Art History as a discipline. After obtaining my high school diploma, I gained a CELTA teaching certificate from International House and spent the next two years teaching English in Italy and then in Saint Peterburg Russia (plenty of amazing art!).
In 2016 I was accepted on the Art History and Theory BA course at the University of Essex. I was introduced to a wide variety of visual culture and theory, however, by the end of my third year, aided by my bilingualism in English and Italian, I focused my attention on Italian Old Master painting. I wrote my dissertation on the role of design and colour in the rivalry between Venice and Central Italy during the High Renaissance and graduated in 2019 with a First Class Honours.The following year, I was accepted on the Art History, Curatorship and Renaissance Culture MA course, run by the Warburg Institute in conjunction with the National Gallery.
Throughout university I continued to teach english in summer camps and online.

I am an Art History graduate and have just completed an MA in Curatorship and Renaissance Studies at the Warburg Institute in London in conjunction with the National Gallery. I am also a qualified TEFL teacher with experience working with children, teenagers and adults, and recently SEND children in Primary and Secondary schools.
