About JoAnna

My name is JoAnna Jones Howe and I live in Bellevue (West of Downtown Nashville) and I was exposed to acrylic painting in 2015 by a friend at a Wine Wednesday class. My piece that I did that night I still have and treasure because it was so bad! However that night while I was working on it, I found a peace I had not had in a very long time:) I was totally in tunnel vision! Since 2015, I have sold over 230 paintings. My passion is acrylic painting and my favorite tools are the palette knives! I love landscapes, trees, abstracts and Nashville Skylines but I have painted just about everything! I am not scared since I am self taught, so I try everything! I am very outgoing and just want you to find your creativity and explore it! I find wine does allow you to be more creative when you are starting out but that is totally up to you! :) I would not ever make everyone paint the same thing because everyone has different color schemes in their homes and different interests. If it means something to you then your enjoyment level will soar:)

I am available to teach at night and weekends.

I charge $40 for 1 hour and $60 for a 2 hour session.

Painting has become my passion. I work on it almost daily and it relaxes my soul and my brain :)

i am self taught and have learned by painting nearly everyday. I can help beginners and let them find their own passion.

About the lesson

Have them bring a photo of what they want to paint and the size canvas they want. Decide how to begin the piece and show them how I I start to how I finish with layers and lights and shadows.

Adults wanting to try painting. I have all the acrylic paints that I will provide. I have room at my place for 2-3 people. If you have a larger group we will need to have it at one of their homes.
