About Clarkston

I hope this message finds you well.

My name is Clarkston VanScott Ellerby, and I am a proud alumnus of Morehouse College, where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering. I offer my services as a tutor, specializing in mathematics up to Calculus, basic Physics and mechanics, ACT preparation, Introduction to Software Engineering/Coding, Data Science, and Python coding.

My academic journey has been one of continuous learning and growth. While my high school achievements were commendable, with an ACT composite score of 29 and a super score of 31, it was my time at Morehouse College that truly shaped my understanding of complex mathematical concepts. Throughout my studies, I had the privilege of exploring subjects such as Probability and Statistics alongside Calc III Integration.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I have had the opportunity to gain practical experience through internships at Amazon and Salesforce, where I worked as a Software Engineer Intern. These experiences not only enriched my understanding of the industry but also instilled in me a deep appreciation for the importance of education in shaping future leaders.

My tutoring journey began in 2018, initially focusing on ACT preparation before expanding my scope with Varsity Tutors. Since then, I have continued to evolve as an educator, now offering support in various subjects. Moreover, my involvement with Hack The Hood, where I serve as a technical instructor and curriculum developer, has allowed me to give back to the community by empowering individuals with essential tech skills.

I recognize that there is always more to learn and that each student brings a unique set of challenges and strengths. It is with this mindset of humility and continuous improvement that I approach my role as a tutor. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my knowledge and support your educational journey.
