About Mary

Hello!

Next Steps Prep is here to help you or your child feel calm, comfortable, competent and confident while tackling his or her next exam. With experience as an ACT and SAT tutor throughout my high school and college career, I decided to broaden my tutoring to benefit my fellow students at Washington and Lee University throughout my undergraduate education. I tutored in the social sciences, economics and business departments. Since graduating from college, I have received a post-baccalaureate degree in Medicine from Johns Hopkins University, an RN/BSN from University of Rochester and passed my NCLEX exam; as well as, a Master's in Nursing or Nurse Practitioner Degree from Vanderbilt University. Throughout all of these steps, I have taken the ACT/SAT/GRE/NCLEX/ and AANP Board exams and helped tutor my friends and colleagues along the way. Additionally, I am an alumni interviewer for Washington and Lee University and consistently reviewing applications and writing personal reviews that are then added to students applications. Throughout this process, I have had firsthand experience with learning what helps a candidate to stand out in the application process.

I am pursuing a job as a Family Nurse Practitioner and hoping to tutor on the side to help finance my loan repayments along the way. I am approachable, creative, and enjoy working with others. As a prior pediatric nurse, I have had a lot of experience with working with a range of ages and abilities. Through this experience, I learned how to tailor my approach to find the best fit per person. Please don't hesitate to reach out should you have any questions for me! I love helping students to feel empowered and to decrease an area of stress that take away from the excitement of pursuing one's next steps in life! Finding ways to make tests approachable is key for building confidence. I like to find individualized ways to help each student make this happen.
