About Mackenzie
Helping the student succeed is what I get most excited about! Academics get tough and giving up can seem so easy. But once you understand and the lightbulb clicks, you gain a lot more than just that certain skill; you gain perseverance and confidence!
I have my certification in teaching for K-6 but have also taught 7th and 8th grade. I have tutored after school for my 6th and 7th graders (specifically in math). Math was my favorite subject growing up and I know many students have a hard time. I am here to help all students any way I can!
I enjoy the students and seeing them understand something they didn't before. I find that most rewarding.
I've known since I was younger that I always wanted to teach. So I went to school for education and realized I'm a life long learner. I hope to pass that passion on to students because I truly believe knowledge is power!
I started teaching right after college. I took all my education courses and accepted a job at a school I loved. To this day, I enjoy teaching and helping individual learners. I like to share my passion of being a life long learner in hopes that students will also find a love for learning.
I am a licensed, year 6 teacher.

First, I like to get to know my students im working with. Such as likes, dislikes, things they're osssionayevshout, etc.
I try to build that relationship prior to learning.
After, I do a pre-assessment for the academics - where do they need the most help? That way I can individualize their learning and help the best I can, especially if I know what that specific student needs.
I have worked with all ages. Most recently, 6th graders.
