About Neha
I have experience tutoring grades 5-11 in math and science (Biology, Chemistry, AlgebraII). I also have taught dance (Intro to Dance and Beginner Bharatantyam) to kids ages 3-13.
I am a rising Junior at Rutgers University who is trained in Ballet, Bharatanatyam, Tap, and Modern Dance. I am part of the School of Arts and Sciences Honors Program and work at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. I have made Dean's List all semesters of my college career. I was also recently accepted into Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
I come from a family of teachers and professors. I learned from them the value of education and the opportunites knowledge can present to you. Combining my experiences teaching dance and my love for science, I am commited to be becoming a Pediatrician, not only because I want to help sick children, but because I want to be able to teach and create healthy habits that will be crucial in disease and injury prevention in the future. But during this pandemic, while I study to be an MD, I want to help the community by assisitng parents in their new jobs as teachers and helping students explore the opportunities of education while social distancing.

It is first important to establish trust by becoming relatable to the student. Wether that be discussing their interests or being understanding of their hardships, I try to learn more about them so I can learn how I can be approachable to them. Next I discuss what they feel like they have trouble with. This could be with specific concepts, quick math, study skills and methods, etc. I like to use this as a starting point to help the students gain confidence where they feel like they lack while also help them correct any other weaknesses that might be revealed along the way.
