About Nina
I am a current highschool senior living in the Bay Area, in California. I am really passionate about learning and teaching chemistry and math for middle schoolers and highschoolers. I have received straight As in both subjects (Honors Chem, AP Chem, all highschool math up to AP Calc AB) up until now, and most of my friends and my younger siblings come to me for help in these subjects.
I love working with other students, and especially the look on their faces when they understand what I explain to them. Not only does it help them reinforce their interest in a subject, but it also helps them view it in a more positive outlook to create learning a more enjoyable experience.
I started when I first began to help my younger brother with his schoolwork, especially because I had taken the same classes and he had a harder time understanding the way his teachers tried to explain certain subjects. Soon after, my parents told my aunts and uncles about how I essentially tutor my younger brother, and they have also asked me to help teach some of my cousins as well. They are all pretty satisfied by my method of teaching, and almost all of them thought it would be a good idea to start my own tutoring services online, especially during the pandemic.
I am a highschool senior, with a 4.5 GPA at the moment. I am also an older sibling and the eldest cousin, who has countless experiences working with my younger brother and younger cousins with their homework. Because of the experience I have taking specific math and science courses, I am able to help my sibling and my cousins with their homework and material for their tests. I also help my peers when they need help understanding certain concepts.Because I have put a lot of effort into learning new ideas from my classes and have the ability to learn and teach fairly quickly, I tend to have really good grades and do well in school.

We will first go over what exactly they need help on, as well as their goals from my tutoring services. Then, we can discuss the timings that work well for both the students as well as myself. Finally, we can agree over a certain payment rate that is reasonable, which depends on what will be taught and learned.
I have worked with a lot of elementary and middle school students, but highschool freshmen and sophomores are also fun to teach because of the smaller age gap, and they tend to understand my method of teaching in a better and more empathetic way.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should be able to define a certain goal for what they need when asking a teacher for help, so that way it eases the process of teaching/tutoring for both them and the tutors. The students can also positively reflect on why they need tutoring, and that allows them to be mindful about the obstacles, which in turn helps their tutors figure out a way to help them learn in the most efficient way possible.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
I really like the way she taught my son, who is in 7th grade. He was more enthusiastic about learning Pre-Algebra after her sessions, so she seems to be really good at what she does.
She is really good at teaching! My child was enthusiastic after sessions with her, and I have noticed significant improvement from before and after her teachings. I 100% recommend her for tutoring, especially in chemistry and math.

Details
I don't typically have a standard pricing system for my lessons. The average cost for a private tutor would be around $45-50 per hour, but because I am not entirely focused on the money aspect of this job (I just really like to teach and help others), I prefer around $20-25 an hour, depending on what I am teaching.
