About Spencer
Spencer Johnston is a Pitching, Hitting, and Fielding instructor. Spencer played 5 years of NCAA and NJCAA college baseball, and currently plays professional baseball for the Joliet Slammers in the Frontier League. He began his college career at Frank Phillips College and ended as a Starting Pitcher for the University of Arkansas at Monticello in the Great American Conference. Spencer was a pitcher in the Texas Collegiate League playing for the Frisco RoughRiders. He was a starting pitcher and starting first baseman for Arlington Martin High School, where he earned All-State Honors and was selected to the Perfect Game Rawlings All-American and All-Region Teams. Spencer graduated with a Bachelors in kinesiology and received a Masters degree in coaching from the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
I really enjoy working with baseball players of all ages and skill levels. I really like to emphasize on proper lower half mechanics with athletes, I believe this is crucial for a baseball player's development for both hitting and pitching power. I understand that each player is unique and has their own style of swing/delivery, because of this, I see the most improvement when I work with players on their lower half simply because of how crucial the movement is in our sport for both hitters and pitchers.
