About Lotus

I am an associate professor at a Chinese university with 29 years experience. Throughout my career I have gained an understanding of students’ needs and I have an innate sense of how to guide students, making complex information simpler for them to understand. Throughout my tenure, I have experienced numerous updates of teaching methods and concepts. I have experienced great changes in students' characteristics through different generations, which has required me to be flexible and adapt to the changes. My field of expertise is Chinese language and literature. I have taken systematic courses in Chinese language and literature from bachelor degree to master degree. My main professional courses as a student covered ancient and modern Chinese language and history of Chinese literature, works of Chinese writers of past dynasties (including poems, novels and various literary styles) , and Chinese social philosophy. All of which laid a solid foundation for my academic background. All languages are rooted in the cultures of their speakers. From my background, I am a native speaker and also a professional speaker. I taught Mandarin and Chinese Culture to non-native Uygur students and other foreign students from 2014-2019 in university in China, which broaden my ability to teach. I understood the difficulties of non-native speaking students so that I could help them overcome the barriers of learning a new language.

When I was a junior high school student, it was already my desire to pursue a teaching profession. Because of this persistent love, I enjoyed the classroom teaching process. I like the expectant eyes of students. I am proud that every word I have spoken in the classroom can provide ideas to build my students’ knowledge system. I also love my students' passionate discussion with me. I am more satisfied with equal relationship between students and me.
