About Tyler

Tyler Baillie is an accomplished and versitle clarinet player, holding the position of 4th / Bass Clarinet with the American Youth Symphony since 2018. A UCLA graduate, he studied with Boris Allakhverdyan, Priniciapal Clarinetist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic for four years. Tyler is well versed in Classical, Jazz, and Klezmer music styles

I've been playing the clarinet for 10 years, and since almost the very beginning, I've known it was my passion. I love performing and bringing music into people lives. I also love passing on what I know, and helping students grow towards their goals.

Over the past year I've clutivated a private studio of students from around the greater Los Angeles area; a mix of middle and high school students. Most are interested in continuing music in college as their field of study, which is the path I took so I helped to mentor them through the preperation and application process.

Having studied clarinet under various presitigous tearchers for the past 10 years, I have a wealth of knolwedge, skill, and expertise in playing the clarinet to pass onto you. I have played in pre-proffessional orchestras around L.A. for several years, and can help a student interested in orchestral playing hone the skills nessecary to win auditions. Additionally, with a B.A. degree in music performance from UCLA, I can help guide you towards an education or career in performance, if that is something that interests you.

About the lesson

I like to get to know my students first, and what their goals in playing their insturment are. Once I have a feel for who you are and what you want, I can best tailor a personlaized lesson experience to meet your needs.
