About Weiselande

TLL Inc is a nonprofit 501-c3 arts and culture organization in residency Little Haiti Cultural Complex. TLL mission is educate youth and adults through Haitian Folk/Afro-Folk dance, art, photography, literature, drumming and spoken words. TLL strives to instill in youth a sense of cultural awareness while Discovering hidden talents and becoming global citizens in their communities. TLL offers weekly dance classes (Saturdays @1:PM), Spring Fest, Summer Intensive Institute (Sii) camps, an annual Winter Concert Series and Haitian Folk Dance LAB.

From working through TLL during camp programs. Then, I realized there is a need for on going community dance class.

My undergraduate degree is in theater with a minor in dance. I have training and collaborative works with many professional artists/organizations.

About the lesson

Typically, a new student get a debriefed about the organization programs and mission. The new student will be asked of any medical issues or any other factors to be mindful of during classes. Students are always go through a warm-up. If a student is late, they are asked to practice selfcare and take a few minutes to stretch. Classes are presented in a noncompetitive environment and are mixed levels.

People of all ages and from various ethnic groups.The class is a mixed level class catering to the needs for cultural evolution, selfcare though exercise, passion for cultural music such as drums and having fun in the process.

Be mindful of who you hire. There should always be a good connection/vibe. So use your good judgment and intuition.

Our annual Winter Concert Series at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex and our first dance class of 2019.

Details

Classes are $10 each for registered city of Miami members and $12 for walk-ins. Anyone who is interested in becoming a member of TLL Dance Ensemble, may pay the $80 annual fee with set conditions/protocols of a signed contract.
