About Jonathan

In my dance class, I work strictly with perfecting technique in one aspect before moving on to another, ensuring that technique is perfected. With my teaching I supply strength, control, flexibility, and acting. I've trained a few dancers in the school I attended and under my training these students have become spectacular dancers. When making choreography I ensure that everything is fitting to the dancer as well as a few challenges to push the dancer to be better, and also I make sure that a story can be told through not only the dance but the music too. It will be difficult and limits will be tested but with discipline and determination it is always possible.

I started teaching after my little sister introduced me to a show called "Dance Moms", where after a few episodes I began to admire the movements and feeling that many of these dancers had, so then I began looking into some real dance classes, and when I began to see how teaching was done I realized that I probably enjoyed teaching dance more than I enjoy actually dancing, so then that's what aspired to be. A dance teacher.

I am in college were I am taking dance classes, so even I am still learning new things, I've also taken classes in high school where the dance teacher has let me lead the class and create warm ups and stretches to increase flexibility.

About the lesson

First, I ask the student to introduce themselves to me, let me know a little something about themselves, and then I'll put on a song and then have that student do improv, this way I can see what that student is capable of, from there, I'll take about an hour to list down some of the things the student needs to work on in technique, strength, and flexibility.

I've worked with experienced as well as inexperienced dancers, and the result is always the same, as long as the dancer has the determination to make it happen they will get nothing but results.

Even if you don't choose me to be your teacher make sure you choose someone that is going to punch you even when you don't want to be pushed, because if your dance teacher takes it easy on you, then you're not going to get very much done. Focus on your real goals, do you want your teacher to be nice to you, or do you want them to let you know that you're wrong when you're wrong?

Recently I have taught one of my students how to do an aerial cartwheel, something I've been trying to perfect for quite some time.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
