About Raymond

I am patient and teach with clarity, step by step. I instill in my students a passion for social dancing! Unlike others, I do not hold back teaching them as much as they could digest. I have developed an unique way of teaching so students will retain much more. Many students commented that they felt afer taking a ton of lessons, they forgot most of them, thus wasting their money and time. I have found a way to solve that, proven by my weekly group class of 70 some students.

Also, I do not scold them if they keep making the same mistakes. I help my students improve week after week, month after month. They easily see progress. I am also a dance host and I would be available to take students to social parties and actually dance with them. I can help students do performances and give you an audience where you can do a live performance.

I am flexible in my fees, as my goal is not to make a lot of money.

I prefer to teach those who are mature and keep appointments, unless they have an emergency. I prefer to teach those in their 20's and up.

Besides English, I can speak also fluent Cantonese and Mandarin.

I have been organizing social dance parties for many, many years and currently still hosting a growing, exciting weekly party where you do not need to bring a partner. Free the first time for my students. It is affordable in one of the most beautiful balroom you ever been to! You need to learn so you can blossom and become a popular dancer!

I enjoy seeing students improve and enjoy social dancing!

I used to go to a lot of social dance events and saw many beginners take lessons, then when the party began, they would disappear! They felt inadequate ad awkward. I started helping people to gain confidence and find it rewarding to see dancers dance better and better!

It is so satisfying and fullfilling if you have ever done this!

I will be taking over a big dance class soon in the Easy Bay with roughly 40-65 students.

About the lesson

Find a teacher who actually dance with you. Some mainly watch you and showed you the step and then you follow while he/she observes.

There are two types of teachers, they say. Those who dance very well, but does not know how to communicate the steps and techniques to the students. The other communicates clearly, but does not look good in dancing.

Then there are teachers who can teach you mainly techniques, but know few patterns versuses those who can impart to you a lot of patterns, but seldo teach techniques and give you valuable tips.

It makes a lot of difference!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What is my goal?

Do I just wish to excercize myself at home or do I wish to go to social dance and I would have no fear? Or maybe I really want to compete in competition? If you want to compete, I am not the best one. I can, however, refer to the best of the best.

I will best equipp you so when you go to a social dance party, you would have no fear, but be comfortable leading/ following.

I know a total of 20 dances and frankly not many teachers dance that many dances. Some specialize in Latin, whereas others specialize in Standard or club dances only.

Many charge $50/ hour. I am flexible as my goal is not to make a lot of money. If you are serious about wanting to improve and especially your goal is to get involved in social dance, I will make it very affordable for you.
