About Frankie Rose

I am an interdisciplinary artist that focuses on concept rather than medium. My work revolves around the ecology of the body which includes memory and experience as well as the relationship between body, action, and space. The mediums I mainly work in art illustration, fiber, painting, printmaking and sculpture.

I am a sophomore at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a world class art school and museum. I will use the knowlegde that I have received to advance your art skills in technique as well as in concept. I can also prep your profolio and artist statement for college applications. I was accepted to Pratt, SVA, FIT, as well as SAIC and have a firm understanding what educators are looking for in profolios.

I will work with you through critque base teaching that many institute uses to better art skills and critical thinking. I will also teach you the basic skills for drawing and painting or help advance your beginner skills in those areas.

I have experience in graphite, acrylic paint, oil paint, watercolor, soft and hard sculpture.

I am a person that makes art constantly so I have always had have friends and classmates ask how I made something. In college, I would help my friends with their projects wether it was simply answering questions about materials or giving them advice on a concept, I have always been a guiding hand to those pursing creative adventures around me.

I am a high school graduate as well as a current sophomore at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, an extremly prestigious art college.

About the lesson

We will begin by looking at your goals and create an outline together of how we can achive those. This will include looking at previous work you have done to gauge where you are and other artists that you enjoy to understand where you would like to be.

Then we will go over exercises to increase technique, critical thinking, creative process and conceptual ideas. This might include lessons in material of your choice, critique of any work you have done, or creative exercises other artists have done that I have found to be successful in my own practice.

At the end of our meetings I will assign you homework which might include 6 figure drawings with or without a time limit, a mindful walk, journaling, consuming media critically, or completion of a piece we started together. Homework may take more time than one week or when we meet again so we will do check ins and in-progress critiques.

I have worked with those that are just begining their art journey as well as intermediate artists. I often work with students prepping their profolios for college admissions.

There is no such thing as bad art. Simply art that could be better.
