About John

I have studied painting, drawing and sculpture since my middle school years in an artist's studio.

I now enjoy painting portraits and wildlife.

I also enjoy passing along what I have learned.

I enjoy the creative process and then the follow through too its conclusion.

Also I get great satisfaction passing along what I have learned. Afterall, if it weren't for generous artists that gave me their time and knowledge I couldn't have learned what I have learned.

I enjoy helping students grow to their next level and am always so pleased.

Some awards I have achieved are, Best of Show AAWS 2007 Dimensions, Finalist in Portrait Society of America 2006 Tri-State Exhibition, First Place MRAA Juried Competition, Portrait Selected for National Tour and a portrait published in "Strokes of Genius 2: Best of Drawing Light and Shadow".

I worked and studied in a professional artists studio in my early teens through high school. I then studied art in college for two years. I have been painting and drawing progfessionally since 2003. I have also taught at a school for visual arts for 4 years and out of my studio for several years.

About the lesson

When working with a new student I prefer to meet first, learn what goals they wish to achieve and bring samples of their work. This way I can best design a program best suitable for them and their goals.
