About Fabian

Fabián Rincón was born in Bogotá, Colombia. His first formal musical education began in high school, where he paved the way to later begin his studies at Universidad Incca de Colombia, obtaining the degree of Maestro en Música with jazz emphasis. He was part of the Colombian group Cuatroespantos, recording two albums and touring South America. Currently, he resides in Austin, Texas where he became the former drummer of the Kiko Villamizar band, and with whom he recorded the album Aguas Frías in 2017 at Adrian Quesada's recording studio in Austin, TX. He joined the band's 2017 US tour and the 2018 US and Europe tour. He is also a percussionist for the traditional band Wache, with whom he recorded the album Amistad 2018 at "Lechehouse Studio" in Buda, TX. He is the drummer for the band Cecilia and the Broken Hearts and currently has become a vital member and drummer for the Austin power trio Nemegata (Psychedelic Cumbia/Afro-Punk). Recently the band recorded their debut LP Hycha Wy at "Lechehouse" studios with Beto Martinez, (Prince / Brownout / Grupo Fantasma) and Juan Camilo Alvarez "El Mono Music", scheduled to drop under the Chicago indie label Sonorama Discos. Nemegata was among Austin Chronicle's Top 10 Best New Local Bands of 2019 along with Black Pumas and an Official Artist for SXSW 2020.
