I've been teaching and playing professionally for over 15 years. I can meet you where you are and help you find the path to improvement.

I've recorded on Platinum-selling albums.

I've written for Modern Drummer magazine.

I've played dance clubs with hundreds on the floor moving to my groove.

I've taught small children the beauty and fun that music can bring.

I've led percussion ensembles, bringing people together to create rhythms and melody.

I have a B.M. from Mason Gross School of the Arts.

About the lesson

First I ask their background with the instrument and have them play a little bit to guage their comfort zone. Then I'll usually teach a few basics and rudiments to make sure we're starting from a shared foundation. And within the first lesson I like to get them playing along with a song. Because music is what brought them there. I don't want that to be forgotten for the sake of technique and rudiments.

I have worked with students from 5 years to 55 years old. Drumset students, students prepping for college, conga students, first timers, veterans, multi instrumentalists. I'd like to think that I can adjust the cost to the student's individual needs.
