About Russ

I'm a Berklee College of music grad. published author with Hal Leonard, and long time professional drummer in the Northern California music scene. I'm committed to meeting a student where they're at musically and stylistically, with an emphasis on technique, reading, and overall musicality. I have played professionally pretty much literally every style of music you can think of on stage, studio and in theater pits around town so it gives me a good perspective as to the nuts and bolts of good groove in all genres.

My published method (Phrasing, Advanced Rudiments for Creative Drumming) is extremely flexable and can be customized to fit a students level and musical interests.

About the lesson

I love to be clear what my students goals are and find out where their passions lie. My goal is to enable my students to play what is in their ear and heart.

Everthing from as young as 5 years to 75... Really! Beginner to advenced.

Helping a seasoned pro troubleshoot a problem with this hand techniqe. He was experiencing some pain and I helped him fix it!
