About Brianna

I am interested in this role because I see that my education and experience closely match the job description. I am enthusiastic about one-to-one help to students as I get to see them improve their skills on a daily basis. I like the intellectual fulfillment I get when I see students improve their skills. The opportunity is also great for me to develop my skills while getting a financial reward. The flexibility the role offers interests me. I will also get to exercise different tutoring styles because I will be handling different learners and m work will be to ensure they are on par with what we teach.

I have been volunteering to tutor high school athletes since my freshman year of high school.

About the lesson

For younger students (elementary school) I like to start with a set of books including fun songs, technique building, and music theory. I believe young students learn best when they have a familiar structure to their lessons and clear expectations about practice.

For older students (teenagers) I like to start with a discussion about goals. Then I can recommend specific books that are best in helping them gain the skills they are most interested in.

I would ask my students what their dreams in life are. Then, I would tell them to close their eyes for two minutes and picture themselves living that dream. After, the time is up I will ask them how did that make them feel. Knowing that it made them feel good I will tell them now we have to put in the work to live the dream. There are times we will get unmotivated believe I get that way sometimes but it's the consistency that matters. You not gonna accomplish your dream just sitting on your bed and staying up late watching Netflix. No, your gonna get up and put in the work. If that's staying up an hour later studying or not going out with friends to focus on your school work. It may not seem like anything serious right now because were young but believe in 3 months from now you will be surprised how just how far you come in a short amount of time.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I believe students should ask themselves what is it that I'm struggling with the most. Because I feel once we get the part the student is struggling with the most then that may answer other questions with other struggles.
