About Artemis

Hello! I have taught ESL to adults since 2017, and tutored classmates for much longer. I enjoy leading my students through the confusing parts of English to find and practice their communication style. I can help with existing study or work, or create a unique course to guide you to your goals.

TEFL Certified with a Master of Science in Business Analytics, I work exclusively with adults, as I believe learning has no time limit and I understand the struggles that come with working, seeking employment, and taking care of family in a second language.

I first began tutoring ESL via language exchange programs in 2007, and began considering it as a career around 2016. I volunteered for a local nonprofit in 2017 and 2018, creating full lesson plans and courses, and gained my TEFL Certification in 2019.

About the lesson

The first session is focused on defining the student's individual needs and goals, to create a plan of action.

I am sensitive to how scary it is to use another language - I have lived and studied using my second language, and the stress is real. I am here to help you manage that stress, not add to it. There is no shame in wherever your skill level is.

I work with adults who know what they want to achieve, so I can focus on finding their weaknesses and supporting their growth. This can range from pronunciation issues, to grammar misunderstandings, to technical vocabulary that is difficult to translate, to many more unique problems I enjoy solving.

Adults of all ages and educational backgrounds, from PhDs to high school dropouts.

Courses can be created around subjects, from day to day needs such as grocery shopping and doctor's appointments, to anatomy or programming in English for professional or academic use.

I recently graduated with a Master's in Science in Business Analytics, with a 4.0 GPA!
