About Jordana
Whether students are looking to keep their skills sharp, get ahead, or need help with online music assignments, I am happy to help them achieve their musical goals.
I have a teaching certification in PreK-12 music education in Pennsylvania and Delaware. Additionally, I hold a Bachelor of Music Education (May 2019) from Penn State University and a Master of Music (Flute Performance) from the University of California, Santa Barbara. I have been teaching students ages 6-21 for the last seven years and am passionate about meeting the needs of every student to ensure they are growing from where they start.
I started teaching through my high school when I was growing up. I would travel to the middle schools in my district to teach flute lessons to students there. When I saw my students growing musically, I knew this was the profession for me!
I received a Bachelor of Music Education degree with Flute Performance Recognition from the Pennsylvania State University. There, I won the Philharmonic Orchestra Concerto Competition and was a member of the Wind Ensemble, Marching Blue Band, and Chamber Orchestra.
Most recently, I will receive a Master of Music (Flute Performance) from the University of California, Santa Barbara. There, I was the Flute Teaching Assistant which included duties of the following: instructing weekly private lessons and chamber coaching's for duets, trios, and flute choir, fostering an ensemble community both in-person and via online platforms, and led solo and group lessons with a focus on cohesiveness, intonation, and tone.
I have appeared in solo concerts throughout the United States, most recently in February 2020 in San Francisco, and am skilled in modern, Baroque, classical, and romantic era repertoire.

During the first lesson, I will have the students play so I can assess their performance and how to address certain areas of their playing. I pride myself on making sure students know I am supportive of their growth and provide them with the tools to succeed.
It is important for my students to be well-rounded flutists. In every lesson, we work on tone, rhythm, musicality, and intonation at all ages.
As a teacher, I have had almost a decade of private teaching experience. My students range in age from 7 years to 21 years and from beginner to advanced.
I would suggest the student take a lesson with this teacher to see if they are a good fit as it is important for a private lessons teacher to be able to work well with the student.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I believe in creating a relationship with my flute students where they feel comfortable asking questions. To me, no question is a bad question, and I am always here to help!
