About Morgan

Along with instrumental instruction for all levels I also incorporate music theory, appreciation and history to provide a well rounded approach and understanding for students.

The most exciting part about working with a range of students is finding what works best for them. Every student learns differently and I enjoy finding new ways to approach a lesson to best accommodate the student and strengthen my own abilities to help them approach their goals. Working together with the student so that they can get the most out of their studies and watching them succeed is the most rewarding part of the process.

I first started teaching when I was in high school for younger students in the elementary/middle school.

I have a bachelors degree in music performance from Montclair State University and have been playing the flute for 15 years.

About the lesson

When working with a new student with some experience I like to start with basic excercises and Études to get an idea of the students level. Students that don't have any experience or are just learning to read music, I like to spend a majority of the lessons incorporating basic music theory along with tone and fingering excercises to start with.

I have worked with beginner students just starting out and learning to read music as well as more advanced students preparing for auditions.
