About Laura
Top-rated professional flute player wth 25 years experience in performance and teaching. Orchestral Principal, freelance musician, recording artist with several awards and CDs. Public and private school Band Director experience. All levels of flute as well as beginners on any band instrument.
I started teaching private lessons as a music major in college.
I have a Masters degree in Music Education and 25 years experience. My students consistently rank high in their school ensembles, honors bands, solo competitions, and performances.

Beginning students do not need to have any playing knowledge or music reading skills. I can even help in the process of selecting the right instrument.
Students who have already started playing will have an introductory lesson to assess their level and create a curriculum.
I have worked with all ages and abilities. I've had students from 7 years old all the way to a 63 year who wanted to learn how to play the flute!
A strong foundation is the key to being successful. My advise is to hire a teacher that will teach correct fundamentals upon which to grow and develop your playing.
