John is a special teacher. I think about his lessons all the time, and we worked together 30 years ago! He successfully prepared me for college auditions as a music major, always showing his love for the music, and his respect for me- no matter how many mistakes I made.

When we became colleagues years later, I saw that he is equally effective and patient with students of all levels. He teaches much more than music! I feel lucky to have worked with him, and cannot recommend him highly enough!

John is an esteemed musician with plenty of high-level concerts and recordings throughout his career, and an amazing teacher on top of that. I took lessons with him for 6 years, and during that time he consistently tailored his teaching to suit my level and help me grow. He balances encouragement with guidance for improvement. And his vast knowledge of music history and theory brings the music on the page to life. He's helped musicians of all levels improve, and makes lessons fun in the process.

I worked with Mr Littlefield for 7 years and he helped me grow as a musician so much. Not only did he help me with my flute playing he also simultaneously made sure i was on top of my theory as well. I owe a lot of my musicianship to Mr Littlefield, especially having such a kind teacher to help me grow.
