About Aimee

I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance from Cal State Fullerton, where I studied with John Barcellona. I have been an active performer and teacher for over 30 years, specializing in classical, Baroque, and international dance music. My “Day Job” is at the Fullerton Museum Center where I manage the museum’s education programs. I believe studying a musical instrument is an important part of education and personal growth for children and adults alike.

I enjoy getting to know students and helping them build confidence learning new skills. Music is such a wonderful gift. It informs and enriches all areas of life.

in high school I was section leader and really enjoyed teaching younger players. I continued to teach throughout my college years.

About the lesson

I first assess, then respect, then motivate. Every child can play the flute. A skilled teacher can help the student find their own musical ability.

i have worked with top notch emerging professionals as well as elementary school beginners. Several of my students have gone on to musical careers of their own.

A college degree in music is important. Good communication skills, a friendly, positive demeanor will also help.
