About Bruce

Thanks for checking out DWTD guitar lessons. I started giving lessons to share what I've learned as a guitarist over the past 15+ years of playing. I specialize in rock and metal genres, but also classically trained and studied jazz in arts school. I currently play in a heavy metal band in Denver, rated top 5 metal bands in Denver by westword.

What I love most is seeing how excited anyone can get by advancing their skills and passion. Guitar holds the most special parts of my heart and I love sharing that with people. Expression through music is so important for a healthy minded musician.

My father is a bassist and had me start playing guitar at the age of 4. I progressed playing old school kiss and Black Sabbath songs. Around the age of 8 or 9 I started getting into classical playing and began taking lessons to proceed in the classical field. I was accepted to baltimore school for the arts out of 182 other guitarists where I studied classical and jazz guitar as well as music theory (1-4),keyboard, music literature, chorus and various ensembles. I played in metal and rock band while studying and applied everything I learned to other genres. Since I moved to Denver I've been playing in a speed and thrash metal band but I am a very diverse player and enjoy all music styles as long as you can play guitar to it!

Typically I like to start with a free 15-20 minute conversation to discuss what the student is looking for and to diagnose where they are as a player.
