I really care about the success of my students and love to teach. I am flexible with scheduling changes and can adjust meeting times as needed.

I have always loved teaching anyone about anything. Naturally because of this, I always knew that someday I would enjoy teaching the guitar. I was able to teach at a music camp when I was in high school and the experience was as great as I thought it would be. I started by placing an ad online.

I have been playing the guitar for 13 years and have had multiple teachers. I have also spent much time experimenting and self-teaching myself certain techniques and theory.

About the lesson

In the first meeting, I learn about what you are looking for in a teacher and what your interests are musically. I use this information to determine the best teaching approach to take in the coming lessons. For students with previous experience playing the guitar, I usually am able to identify some gaps in their learning. When I find these gaps, I reorient the lesson plan to focus on filling those gaps before moving on to more complicated topics.

I have worked with students who have wanted to learn how to play songs on the acoustic, wanted to learn electric guitar, wanted to learn bass guitar, and who were interested in learning more about music theory as it relates to the guitar for the purpose of writing better songs.

I would advise a student to find a teacher who is creative minded, willing to work hard to find ways that help you improve the fastest, and can play proficiently.

Details

I prefer to quote depending on the student's needs but generally, I feel a good place to start is $16 per 45 minute session. I decrease the cost by 1 dollar per session each year. So the second year would be $15 per session, third would be $14, etc.

If you want more or less time per session, the cost would be prorated to fit the session length.
