About Lane

I have a passion for teaching and love seeing my students grow as musicians. I have experience with ages 5 to adult. It is important for me to connect with each student individually and guide them based on their needs and learning style. I have a comprehensive approach with a curriculum that includes ear training, music theory, and technique. I use tablature as well as standard notation. No experience is necessary, and if you are a beginner, I will help you build a solid foundation in a positive, nurturing environment. I teach at 2 different studios-- in Peachtree City and Fayetteville, GA. In some cases, I am able to do in-home or online lessons.

My training with music began in elementary school with the saxophone, guitar and piano. I have a B.A. from Emory University and later studied music at Clayton State College. I was also a student of the Royal Academy of Music Certificate Program, which includes10 levels of exams covering guitar performance technique, music theory and aural skills..

I enjoy seeing students learn how to apply concepts and techniques, and gain confidence as they reach their goals. Each student is unique and contributes creatively to his or her lessons. I welcome the chance to help you meet your musical goals.

B.A. from Emory University

Clayton State University - 1 year as a music major, 4.0 GPA

Certificates of Achievement from Royal Academy of Music, Toronto, Canada. These certificates were for exams (passed with honors) for ear training, music theory, music history, and guitar performance.

About the lesson

I typically start with a free 30 minute "meet and greet" introduction and evaluation. Then I go over my studio policy and teaching philisophy, and we implement a lesson plan.
