About Mar

Hi My name is Mar and music is the greatest love of my life! I've been studying music since I was 5, starting with piano and violin for over a decade and then guitar and voice as I got older. My mom was a trained opera singer and raised me on her vocal techniques. I am 23 and recently graduated USC Film school, but I am pursuing a career in music currently. In my lessons, I not only teach music theory principles, but I also stress the importance of strengthening the ear and learning how to create your own melodies. I have also been a poet and a songwriter for my whole life and would love to help students find their lyrical voice! Accepting students of all ages, lessons via zoom.

Music is the words we cannot speak, the feelings we cannot communicate, but rather that which is felt so deeply no words are necessary to understand at all, because feeling is universally understood. Music unites us and heals us and I hope to be playing music for the rest of my life. It is my greatest joy and I will dedicate my life to its art and teachings.
