About KJ

KJ was a full time professional guitarist in Cincinnati, OH for decades. All during that time he taught guitar and bass lessons for students young and old.

KJ custom tailors lessons for the individual student. Whether it be strumming around the campfire or dazzling leads in a concert setting, KJ has been there, done that and can help others get there too.

KJ totally enjoys helping other musicians acheive their goals. Beginner or advanced, he is positive and encouraging. He wants his students to enjoy the experince and succeed.

I have been a professional, working musician all my life. I played in band, jazz ensemble and orchestra in high school, jazz ensemble in college and have been a full time guitar player in bands and as a solo artist.
Music is my lifelong passion. I have studied theory, composition, arranging and vocals.

About the lesson

I want to know what their goals are concerning playing music. Is it for personal fun or professional aspirations? I then assess what they need to acheive them and plot out (with the student) plans to get there.

KJ is extremely knowledgeable and experienced as a musician. Without a doubt, one of the best guitarists I've heard. His philosophy for teaching is to get the student to start playing songs right from the start, by which the student enjoys the playing experience and is more likely to continue growing as a musician.

I’ve taken lessons from KJ since I started playing guitar 6 years ago. He is a great teacher. He always kept it fun. If I wanted to get technical with theory he would go there if I just wanted to learn a song he would help me learn that song. Keeping it fun kept me playing
